UPDATE: SWIFTLY MAKING HISTORY

Taylor's 1989: How Big?

Could 1989 surpass the first-week numbers of the colossal Red?

You already know Taylor Swift will become the only artist to sell more than 1 million albums in a single week on three separate occasions—not to mention on three consecutive releases. Well, she's showing no signs of slowing down.

1989 is currently looking to open in the 1.1-1.2m range. 2012’s Red opened with 1.2m, while 2010’s Speak Now opened with 1.05m.

Tay's new one is clearly a monster, and will have a first week that's orders of magnitude larger than anything else released this year. But can it bow bigger than Red? Stay tuned.
