A pair of TV specials featuring performance highlights from the fest will air on The CW on 9/29-30 from 8-10pm.

"The iHeartRadio Music Festival is the most important promotion we do," President of National Programming Platforms Tom Poleman pointed out in a joint Q&A with President of Entertainment Enterprises and fellow festival co-producer John Sykes. "The show itself is an incredible live-event experience. But it’s not just for the people in that venue; we broadcast it in every single city that [iHeartMedia] is in. So it’s a new way for people to experience a concert.

"I used to think when I was a kid, 'Boy, I wish I could actually hear what was going on at that concert that they were talking about on the air.' Now, you actually get to experience it as it’s happening. We also create a stream so you can see it as well, and then there’s that huge payoff with a great TV broadcast. And then along the way, there’s a lot of digital integration and a lot of social, and it gives us a central focus for all of our stations to be pointing towards to be a great pop-cultural moment, a great platform for artists to show the world what they’re all about."
