Mediabase Radio Formats

Heeeeey, buddy! Are you drunk yet? Well, what the hell's wrong with ya? You shouldn't have much trouble grasping our preview of the action at three key Mediabase formats, even if you're heavily impaired.

TOP 40

It's a dogfight at the top of the chart, but Republic's Ariana Grande will most likely remain in the #1 spot with "Problem" f/Iggy Azalea. Warner Bros.Nico & Vinz are making a strong surge with "Am I Wrong," which should be next up to take the crown. "Stay With Me" by Capitol’s Sam Smith and "Rude" by Latium/RCA’s Magic! both enjoy big increases inside the Top 10 and continue to be on the Greatest Gainer list. Movers inside the Top 20 include Demi Lovato f/Cher Lloyd "Really Don’t Care" (Hollywood) and KONGOS’ "Come With Me Now" (Epic). Meanwhile, Grand Hustle/Def Jam's Iggy Azalea is jumping on the chart in a big way with "Black Widow" f/Rita Ora.

RHYTHM

Republic will have a new #1 this Monday with Ariana Grande f/Iggy Azalea’s "Problem." RCA's Kid Ink makes the jump into the Top 5 with "Main Chick," and Warner Bros.' Nico & Vinz looks to go Top 10 with "Am I Wrong." "Rude" by Latium/RCA'S Magic! will have a big increase, as will "Don't Tell Em" by Def Jam's Jeremih and "No Mediocre" by Columbia's T.I. f/Iggy Azalea. Grand Hustle/Def Jam's Iggy Azalea will have the biggest chart debut with "Black Widow" f/Rita Ora.

ALTERNATIVE

As we head into the July 4th weekend, the format takes a major turn into specialty programming. Look for spins to be down significantly, but that won't stop Nonesuch/Warner Bros. The Black Keys from being #1 for a ninth week with "Fever." Big Data's "Dangerous" (Warner Bros./Crush) will enter the Top 5 and could get to #4. Coldplay's "A Sky Full of Stars" should enter the Top 10. Columbia’s buzzing Hozier will make another nice move with "Take Me to Church," going #32-27. Also, RCA's Kings of Leon will enter the chart with their latest single, "Family Tree."
