CARLY RAE SHOWERED WITH LOVE AT MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

“Maybe” Gets a Resounding “Yes,” as Bieber Find Outpoints Her Mentor, Three to Two
To the surprise of no one on either side of the Canadian border, Carly Rae Jepsen and Justin Bieber were the big winners at Sunday night's 23rd annual MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto.

Jepsen did more than ride the coattails of her benefactor Bieber, the 24-year-old BC native picked up more hardware, with three wins to the Biebs’ pair. All of her MMVAs were for the irresistible "Call Me Maybe," which got Video of the Year, the MuchMusic.com Most Watched Video and the fan-voted UR Fave Video of the Year.

The clip for Bieber’s "Boyfriend" won for International Video of the Year by a Canadian, while he also picked up the UR Fave Artist award.

"Oh, it's very heavy!" said Jepsen, sounding genuinely surprised, as she accepted her Video of the Year trophy, thanking Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun in her speech.

The U.S, was well-represented. Katy Perry snagged a pair of MMVAs, as "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) " won for International Video of the Year—Artist, while the fans voted her as UR Fave International Artist or Group. LMFAO, who hosted, picked the International Video of the Year—Group award for "Sexy and I Know It." And although Flo Rida didn’t win anything, he got the chance to bask in the glow of Jepsen, who joined him in a performance of "Wild Ones."

As for the Canucks, Drake’s "The Motto," featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga, won the MuchVIBE Hip-Hop Video of the Year, and the Sheepdogs, who won that “cover of Rolling Stone” promotion last year, grabbed the MuchLOUD Rock Video of the Year for their track "I Don't Know." Vancouver-based Marianas Trench, who have yet to penetrate the U.S. market, took home two trophies, as with their clip for "Haven't Had Enough" got Pop Video of the Year and "Fallout" won Cinematography of the Year.
