RED FOR GREEN: CITY OF HOPE’S MANHATTAN SOIREE

People Having a Great Time for a Great Cause—What a Concept

More than 450 people were in attendance Thursday night for the City of Hope’s 8th Annual Taste of Hope Wine Dinner in New York, specifically at the posh Three Sixty on Desbrosses St. in Tribeca. Lots of vino was consumed during the course of the gathering, but the wine that really mattered was the vintage stuff that was donated from various private collections to be auctioned off to raise additional funds for the City of Hope. The auctioneer was none other than IDJ’s gentle giant, Steve Bartels.

Biz peeps on the dinner committee, chaired by Premiere Networks’ awesome Alissa Pollack, were Bartels, RCA’s Tom Corson, Def Jam’s Sean "Pecas" Costner, promo legend Richard Palmese and Epic’s L.A. Reid. All were highly visible as they rubbed elbows with the guests, as was Taylor Swift, who worked the room taking pics for over an hour during cocktails.

Spotted among the attendees (and placed in alphabetical order to the best of our limited abilities) were Scott Borchetta, Jim Burruss, Jonathan Daniel, Sharon Dastur, Peter Edge, Daniel Glass, Todd Glassman, Michael Guido, Steve Leeds, Lee Leipsner, Monte Lipman, Michael Martin, Dan Mason, David Massey, Mike McVay, Marisa Morris, Chris Oliveri, Pat Paxton, Rod Phillips, Tom Poleman, Joe Riccitelli, Sylvia Rhone, Jim Ryan, Rick Sackheim, Gary Spangler, Greg Strassell and Barry Weiss.

Pollack put everything in perspective when she addressed the crowd. "Tonight we are not competitors, we're not clients," she pointed out. "We are all just one with the same goal—curing cancer."
