Six of Top Seven are Debuts, as Little Big Town, Dylan, Avetts, The xx Bow
They’re jamming at the top of the chart. RCA’s Dave Matthews Band hits #1 this week on the HITS sales tally as Away from the World bows with 271k, third highest total of the year after Justin Bieber (373k) and Madonna (358k).

The Charlottesville, VA, college rockers led a group of seven debuts in the Top 10, with the first five newcomers, marking the first time that’s happened since January 2011.

Capitol Nashville/EMI’s Little Big Town enters at #2 with Tornado, scoring a total of 109k, followed by Bob Dylan’s Tempest (#3), the 35th studio recording in his historic career, and American/Republic’s Avett Brothers, notching their highest-total ever for Carpenter. All four releases score in the six-figure range.

Young Turks/XL Mercury Prize winner, critical darlings The xx, round out the Top 5 with Coexist, while American/Republic veteran Texas bluesmen ZZ Top’s La Futura is the other Top 10 newcomer at #7.

Interscope’s Imagine Dragons (#6), Atlantic’s previous chart-topper Matchbox Twenty (#8), Reach’s Lecrae (#9) and Capitol/EMI’s Now 43 (#10) complete the leader board.

Top 50 debuts are registered by 4AD’s David Byrne/St. Vincent collab Love This Giant (#18), Capitol/EMI’s Fifty Shades of Grey Classical album (#20), Seven Arts veteran gangsta rapper DMX’s Undisputed (#22), Buena Vista’s Austin & Ally soundtrack (#27), El Cartel/EMI Latin’s Daddy Yankee (#37), Superball’s Black Audio (#38), Open E’s Hoobastank (#41), Shanachie’s Mint Condition (#47) and Arista Nashville’s Kix Brooks (#48).

Capitol Nashville’s Eric Church (#28-26, +20%) and Columbia’s Train (#35-32, +17%) lead the double-digit gainers, followed by Glassnote’s Mumford & Sons (#31, +7%) and XL/Columbia’s Adele (#11, +3%) in her 82nd week on the chart, with a total of 9.8 million.
