TUESDAY CHART RECAP

The Action at Three Key Radio Formats

Heyyyyyy, buddy! Let's have a little look-see at the action at three key radio formats, and then let's go get hammered.

TOP 40
Fresh off the holiday weekend, Republic lands the #1 Most Added song of the week with Lorde’s "Team." Epic has another big weekwith A Great Big World f/Christina’s "Say Something" and The Fray’s "Love Don’t Die." RCA makes the list for the fourth week in a row on Britney Spears’ "Perfume," and IDJ scores for a second week with American Authors’ "Best Day of My Life"(Mercury) and Avicii’s "Hey Brother" (Island). Rounding out the action this week are Warner Bros. with Passenger’s "Let Her Go" and Hollywood with Demi Lovato’s "Neon Lights."

CROSSOVER
In a partial week due to the holiday, Lorde’s "Team" (Lava/Republic) nabs eight new stations this week. It was mostly a cleanup week, as J Cole’s "She Knows" (Roc Nation/Columbia),SoMo’s "Ride" (Republic), Mack Wilds’ "Own It" (Louder Than Life/RAL) and Pitbull f/Ke$ha’s "Timber" all gather a handful of new stations. Drake’s "The Language" (YM/CM/Republic), RCA’s Kid Ink, YG (CTE/Def Jam/IDJ), and John Legend’s "All of Me" (Columbia) also continue to build momentum heading into the holiday season.

ALTERNATIVE
Right after a major holiday, the format tends to be a bit slow in adding new music, and this week was no exception. But we did see some nice closeout action with a variety of records. Island/IDJ’s The Airborne Toxic Event had a real nice week with "Hell and Back," as did Columbia’s Broken Bells with "Holding on for Life." Glassnote’s Chrvches continues to make inroads with "The Mother We Share." It was good to see a bunch of early adds for Arcade Fire’s "Afterlife" (Merge). Also making noise were Jake Bugg (Mercury/IDJ), Hellogoodbye (Old Friends) and New Politics (RCA).
