GIMME A BREAK

On Friday, an email blast from the Bible ran the seemingly prophetic headline "BREAKING NEWS: Why the Managers of Madonna, Miley, McCartney (And Many More) Are Prepping ‘Maverick’ Shake-Up to the Music Biz."

The story, about Guy Oseary’s efforts to build a management powerhouse at his Maverick inside parent company Live Nation, is a fascinating one. Amen to that.

We said as much when our own I.B. Bad broke the very same story in his column dated July 24.

Nonetheless, BB insisted it had divined "music’s biggest, most fiercely protected secret of the year." The truth is, everybody in the music biz has known about Guy O’s maneuverings since midsummer, and to pretend otherwise—or worse, not know any better—is embarrassing. Time to pray for guidance?

The situation is getting so cringe-worthy that certain people inside BB are laughing at some of their own coworkers for being clueless. Look for more changes at the scriptural publication in the coming weeks and months.

Rumors that Sinead O’Connor might be named the Bible’s new music editor could not be confirmed by the Vatican press office.
