What to Expect at Three Key Mediabase Formats

Hey, buddy! To quote WB's Priory, “It’s the weekend!” Before you roll up and light that first round of refreshments, let's close our eyes and envision the action on three key Mediabase radio charts.

TOP 40

There's a new #1 this week, as Magic!’s "Rude" moves in to take the slot just in time for the RCA meetings. Good timing, Nipper. This week's Greatest Gainer goes to Capitol's Sam Smith, as "Stay With Me" makes a big move inside the Top 10. Republic's Ariana Grande is lighting up the chart, as well, with "Break Free" f/Zedd. RCA’s Sia is also scoring big gains inside the Top 20 with "Chandelier." Iggy Azalea f/Rita Ora’s "Black Widow” (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) and Enrique Iglesias f/Descemer Bueno, Sean Paul & Gente De Zona’s "Bailando" (Republic) both have big spin increases. Capitol has two charting this week: 5 Seconds of Summer’s "Amnesia" and Capital Cities’ "One More Minute." "All About That Bass" by Epic's Meghan Trainor will also chart this week.

RHYTHM

RCA holds down the top two slots on the chart with Tinashe f/Schoolboy Q’s "2 On" and Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s "Main Chick." Def Jam's Jeremih makes the move into the Top 10 this week with "Dont Tell 'Em" f/YG, which is also this week's Greatest Gainer, and Nicki Minaj does the same with "Pills N Potions." Epic's Lil Jon joins the chart this week with "Bend Ova f/Tyga, as does RCA's Usher with a huge move on "She Came to Give It to You."

ALTERNATIVE
After an 11-week run at #1 from Nonesuch/Warner Bros. The Black Keys, the chart will have a new leader with RCA's Bleachers taking over the top spot on Monday with their big hit "I Wanna Get Better." Big Data's "Dangerous" (Warner Bros./Crush) will climb to #2; this looks to be a serious challenger for #1 moving forward. Republic's Milky Chance will enter the Top 10 with "Stolen Dance." “Back to the Shack” by Republic’s Weezer makes an impressive debut at #15. Hozier's "Take Me to Church" (Columbia) is up another 100x, moving to #18. Epic's KONGOS arrives in the Top 25 with "I'm Only Joking." Meanwhile, Warner Bros.’ Priory moves quickly to #30 with "Weekend."

In other radio news, "Studio" by Interscope's ScHoolboy Q f/BJ the Chicago Kid will go #1 at Urban. Peep the video below, which features a clever Beats Music tie-in.
