Guardians Cassettes, Vinyl Exclusives Grabbed by Eager Throngs in Banner Day for Physical Retail

On Black Friday’s Record Store Day, folks lined up down the block from coast to coast, and both collectible vinyl and cassettes—yes, cassettes—did brisk business. Overall, incredible increases from the past five years have tempered into more modest gains, primarily 5-15%; however, some stores are still posting eye-popping sales spikes.

Music Millennium’s Terry Currier tells us his sales were up an astonishing 33% over last year, and Jim Bland from Plan 9 in Richmond VA reports that he was up 39%.
