BRAD PAISLEY BANDS AGAINST CANCER
4/24/17

Country star Brad Paisley and Sony Music Nashville–in partnership with Sarah Cannon, the global cancer institute of HCA–kicked off the second year of Band Against Cancer yesterday in conjunction with the release of Paisley's new album LOVE AND WAR (Arista Nashville), which dropped 4/21. The launch party saw supportive appearances from Sony Music Nashville CEO Randy Goodman (pictured above with Paisley and Sarah Cannon CEO Dee Anna Smith) and a host of the album's collaborators.

The BAC grassroots campaign unites those affected by cancer with community treatment options. For one, Paisley is giving his fans the opportunity to contribute to the cause by selling LOVE AND WAR at a discounted price, with the inclusion of a free copy being sent to a patient afflicted by cancer. The acclaimed singer/songwriter, whose album was #1 on the iTunes country chart at press time, is also expected to launch related social and digital initiatives, as are iHeartMedia, Premiere Networks, Cumulus Media and Westwood One.

Sarah Cannon is sponsoring Paisley's 2017 North American tour and has also selected his "Today” as the campaign’s theme song. FYI, “Today”—the new album’s single that topped the Country radio chart last month—has earned 7m+ YouTube views for its official video since its release.

“All of us at Sony Music Nashville are honored and excited to team with the experts at Sarah Cannon to launch the 2017 Band Against Cancer campaign,” shared Goodman. “Brad Paisley’s #1 hit ‘Today’ is the perfect theme song for Band Against Cancer, reinforcing that the research and care provided by Sarah Cannon is truly making a difference today and every day.”
