CROSSOVER
I can’t help but bring up Childish Gambino’s “3005” on Glassnote. They started working this record in early December; this week we move #40-33, up 122 spins. Now, he’s poised to have an even better week, with KUBE, KKUU and WBTT making the commitment, along with stations like KQKS moving it up because of research. His fans certainly know who he is; it’s time for radio to reap the benefits of this outstanding artist. “3005” will work for you and your station. Period… Now on to Columbia, the proud owners of four records inside the Top 10! John Legend’s “All of Me” came in at #2 on the chart and is currently sitting at #1 on the building chart. It’s going to be a dogfight with Chris Brown for the coveted spot this week. Ayelet Schiffman and James White also have Pharrell’s “Happy” at #1, Beyoncé’s “Partition” going #10-7, increasing 450 spins, and DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” moving #11-9, increasing 225 spins. They also look to debut Calvin Harris’ “Summer” in the next few weeks, while new Pharrell and Rita Ora tracks are coming shortly… John Strazza, Inca and Lori G at RCA are fighting to get Chris Brown’s “Loyal” to #1 this week. It’s #4 on the chart and #2 on the building. They also have Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing” leaping #22-17, gaining 375 spins, as well as Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s “Main Chick” at #26, Tinashe f/ScHoolboy Q’s “2 On” at #30 and Pitbull f/GRL’s “Wild Wild Love” at #37. This week, they impact Alicia Keys f/Kendrick Lamar’s “It’s On Again,” from Spider-Man 2Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness at Def Jam continue their success with Jhene Aiko’s “The Worst,” as it climbs #14-12, adding 200 spins. They also have Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” at #14, up 500 spins again. YG f/Drake’s “Who Do You Love” moves up to #23, and Ludacris f/Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih & Cashmere Cat’s “Party Girls” sits at #40. They’ll chart August Alsina f/B.o.B & Yo Gotti’s “Numb” this coming week, with Rick Ross f/Lil Wayne’s “Thug Cry” a few weeks away from charting… Republic has Young Money f/Drake’s “Trophies” in the Top 15, gaining 485 spins this week. Gary Spangler and Davey Dee also have Adrian Marcel’s “2 AM” climbing the chart, moving #32-28, and SoMo’s “Show Off” at #53… Lee L’Heureux and Warner Bros. drop a brand new track by Jason Derulo f/Snoop Dogg, “Wiggle,” today, which should be a solid follow-up to his #1 record, “Talk Dirty”… Sujit Kundu and the Epic staff continue to pound away with Future f/Pharrell’s “Move That Doh.” It moves inside the Top 25 this week, gaining 175 spins. They also move Kat Dahlia’s “Crazy” to #31 and have Bando Jonez’s “Sex You,” as well as Kesington Kross’ “Gimme Your Love,” just outside the chart… Franco Immello and Capitol have Jennifer Lopez f/French Montana’s “I Luh Ya Papi” at #45 this week… A few records to really be aware of at Pop include the Nico & Vinz’s “Am I Wrong” (Warner Bros.) and Tiesto’s “Red Lights” (Republic).
