BIG LIFE JUMPS INTO RESERVOIR
6/8/17

Before returning to the bank to turn Benjamins into quid are, from left, Reservoir Media COO Rell Lafargue, Reservoir/Reverb Music MD Annette Barrett , Big Life CEO Tim Parry, Reservoir SVP, Creative and A&R, Spek and Reservoir Media Founder & President Golnar Khosrowshahi.

London management firm Big Life and its publishing arm has secured investment from New York pubco Reservoir. The deal will see Reservoir acquire a stake in Big Life’s 3k+ copyrights from its roster of songwriters, while venturing into artist management.

Reservoir already has a foot in Blighty with Reverb/Reservoir Music. Big Life manages talent such as Badly Drawn Boy, Bloc Party, The Sound of Arrows, To Kill A King, WILLS and Youth. It also looks after Reservoir songwriters Nitin Sawhney,Craigie Dodds and Turya. The deal with Reservoir joins partnerships with The Bakery, LostOnes and 140db Management.

Tim Parry, who will continue to serve as CEO of both Big Life Management and Big Life Music, said: "Reservoir is one of most creatively focused and innovative independent music publishers and always put the songwriter right at the middle of their decision making. Our approaches to working with creative talent are aligned and this new agreement will see us both benefit from the experience and expertise of our respective teams.”

Reservoir COO Rell Lafargue added: “Helping Big Life build on the success of its publishing activity and working closely with them to develop interesting new opportunities in the artist management sector is a natural fit for us and we are excited to be working with Tim and his team.”
