JASON CARTER TO LEAD AMAZON U.K. EVENTS AND TICKETS
5/3/17

The new job title of former BBC Introducing boss Jason Carter at Amazon has been revealed—the exec is Director, Prime Live Events, Amazon Tickets according to sources. Carter reports into GM for Tickets Geraldine Wilson. He doesn't have an official team yet, but we do know that London promoter Beck Rosoman joined at the same time.

The news comes soon after Amazon made further moves into the U.K. live music scene by offering its Prime members pre sale tickets, premium seating and access to VIP lounges at venues in London.

New Amazon lounges are now open at AEG venues The O2 and The SSE Arena, Wembley, and Prime members can get access for an exclusive viewing experience. The tech giant will also have presence via reserved enclosures at a number of British festivals this summer.

What will Carter be working on? The 'Prime Live Events' title sounds like Amazon is heading into promoter territory—perhaps in partnership with Live Nation rival AEG. Stay tuned for the official release.

The Director spent 20 years at the Beeb and left as Head of Live Music, International and BBC Introducing. A former manager and promoter, Carter has been involved in Introducing since it launched in 2007.
